“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart.”

Get involved today!

Terrace Park and Brier Terrace Middle Schools both have an involved parent community, which benefits everyone. Please consider volunteering, even for just one event or activity – your time makes a huge contribution.  Often it’s the same handful of parents who become involved, and sometimes they forget to ask for more help; please make yourself available if you would like to get involved!

CPA and PTA and PTSA Events

More help is always needed to support the many fun activities put on at the school. Don’t be shy, lend a hand! Attend our meetings to find out how you can help or reach out using the contact link below.

Classroom Volunteering

Each teacher will communicate their volunteer requests and needs. There are often opportunities to help in the classroom (more in elementary level). Each teacher may use classroom help differently — some for small group work, for example, where others use them for administrative help.

Library Volunteering

The library is always in need of regular volunteers. Contact the school librarian for more information.

Watch D.O.G.S.

This is a national program that stands for Dads of Great Students. It was created to encourage male volunteers (dads, grandpas, uncles, etc.)  on school campus and it has been highly successful. We encourage you to sign up to come to the school for a half day or full day; the office staff will schedule you in your child’s classroom as well as lunch, recess, and other activities.

Before you can volunteer, you need to do the following:

  • Complete a State Patrol background check form (Please allow 1-2 weeks!). The volunteer packet with all the information needed regarding volunteering can be found online or in the school office.

  • Get a volunteer badge. Have your picture taken on school picture day (morning), and a volunteer badge will be made for you to be kept in the office on days you are at school. If you don’t have a badge, not a problem: make a name tag sticker when you check in.

  • Familiarize yourself with school rules and volunteer guidelines. The volunteer packet has information on where to go, how to sign in, etc.

  • Use only adult-designated restrooms when on school campus

  • Have the signed volunteer agreement (with background check) turned in and approved before you can help in the classroom, go on a field trip, help at school events, help with vision/hearing screening, etc.
